Osteopathy is all about helping to re-establish balance within your body in order to ensure every muscle, organ and cell is able to function under optimal conditions. Your provider will use a variety of hands on adjustments to help relieve your specific aches and pains and help improve functions of whatever body system(s) is/are holding you back.

The practice of Classical Osteopathy requires extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology and based on four key principles:
1 | Each structure in the body supports the body’s functions.
2| The natural flow of the body’s fluids – lymphatic, vascular and neurological – must be preserved and maintained.
3| The human body is the sum of its parts. Its physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive systems don’t work independently - they work in harmony.
4| When the body has no restrictions, it has the inherent ability to heal itself.

Initial assessments include a verbal health history intake and a physical assessment followed by treatment. Initial Treatments are usually about 40-50 minutes in length. Follow-Up Treatments are ~20-30 minutes in length. You are not required to undress for Osteopathic sessions. We do recommended you wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing to your appointments where possible.

Dr. Amanda Satov, ND is a Toronto native with a passion for food and a love for all things that support this journey we are on. She believes in the powers of what we put in our body, and who and what we surround ourselves with.

Her path to Naturopathic Medicine started from a young age, cooking in her Bubby’s kitchen, where she began to learn the powerful effects food can have on both our bodies and souls.

As a Naturopathic Doctor, Amanda focuses on the foundations of health; sleep, movement, food and connection. She sees patients as a whole person, and takes into account everything that makes you you. Incorporating treatments such as diet and lifestyle changes, functional foods, herbal medicine, acupuncture and a patient-centred approach, she views health as a collaboration for you to feel empowered in your wellness.

The ways Amanda enjoys life include but are certainly not limited to; sharing a good meal with people she loves, singing, cycling the streets of Toronto, and getting to witness the everyday magic in the gratitude of her patients.

Have you reflected on your inner self-talk? Would you speak kinder to a friend than yourself? Are you focused on how others view you?

Self-awareness is therapy’s foundation, allowing for personal growth and contentment. It involves delving into our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, comprehending our identity, desires, and how others perceive us. The best part is that you can navigate your personal goals with this awareness, whatever that may be.

Our body and mind are connected to these patterns; if you want to build muscle, you work out; if you want to change an outcome, you must know how to get there. With increased self-awareness, you can begin to understand the reason for the behaviours and emotions we have. Thus, we can alter these narratives or actions to get the desired results. Neuroscience can provide insight into our internal reactions, and cognitive strategies can help you embrace the person you want to be. Think about the time you walked in for an exam; your heart is pumping, and your hands are sweating. That is a reaction. We can slow your heart and calm the body by changing your thoughts. The first step is becoming self-aware of all the components and how they work together; the next is to activate the change process. I have personally experienced the benefits of becoming self-aware and continuing to engage in building it.

Throughout my internship; I am excited to use a combination of therapeutic approaches to assist you with cultivating your self-awareness, particularly solution-focused and emotional-focused therapies and more. I am passionate about supporting individuals to become their best selves through a safe, non-judgmental space. I would be privileged to assist you with your growth and would love to witness you flourish.

In my off time, I live in the sun while surrounded by nature whenever possible; I have also been seen around the office with the watering can between sessions, giving some love to our plants. You will see me with two cups most of the day, one with water and one with coffee, to keep myself hydrated.

After nearly 20 years in the education sector assisting various individuals, I wanted to make an intentional difference in mental health; thus, furthering my education allowed me to do this.

I am a Master’s level MA in Counseling Psychology practicum student qualified to practice onsite or virtual under clinical supervision and a CCPA and CRPO member. I offer treatment at a reduced rate, which most extended benefit providers cover.

>“If trauma can be passed down from generation to generation, so can your healing”

I have had the privilege of practicing as a Clinical Social Worker (MSW, BSW, RSW) for eight years in various settings, including health care, community mental health, individual and family therapy, and school settings. At the heart of my practice is relational therapy, which focuses on developing strong therapeutic relationships that value authentic, empathic connections where people can truly feel seen, heard, and understood. My practice is deeply rooted in evidence-based, attachment-focused, and trauma-informed approaches.

As an attachment-focused therapist, I have gained experience working alongside people of all ages (children, adolescents, and adults), providing individual, couples, and family therapy. My areas of specialty include supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, school or work-based stress, grief and loss, relational concerns, and life transitions.

My expertise in attachment allows me to deeply understand how our past, upbringing, and family systems impact us; this allows me to operate from a space of empathy and genuine care. I honour clients’ unique strengths and needs and integrate a variety of approaches into my practice including emotionally focused therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, narrative therapy, mindfulness and somatic-based techniques, and EMDR.

One of my life’s greatest privileges is being a clinical social worker. I continue to learn so much from the brave human beings who have trusted me with their life stories. I believe that you are the expert of your story, and it is a true privilege for me as a therapist to walk alongside you in your healing journey.

I hold a deep appreciation for the courage needed to seek out support and am honoured to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and accepting space for you to share your story. Regardless of where you are in your journey, it is never too early or too late to reach out. Finding a therapist that you feel safe with is so important, which is why I offer 15-minute complimentary phone calls to explore if I may be the ‘right fit’ for you.

Hello there!

My name is Miranda Jones. I’m an Registered Nurse Psychotherapist, and a Kingston native living in Toronto with my partner and my dog, completing my third year of naturopathic medical school at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I’m a proud member and supporter of the LGBTQ2S+ community. I am also an avid therapy-goer myself. It is so so nice to meet you!

Let me give you a bit more insight into my approach and how I may be able to support you through all the waxing and waning of this adventure we call life. Regardless of what psychotherapy approaches we find useful for you, from the rock bottom moments up to the most exciting celebrations, I will be here to support you with compassion and unconditional positive regard. I consider myself to be an energetic and spiritual human being, as well as an evidence-based medical practitioner. I strongly believe that both the science and the art of psychotherapy are critical to holistic care and I integrate a bit of both into my therapeutic approach. I am passionate about addressing the physical, mental, spiritual, financial and social aspects of mental health in a way that aligns with you; after all, it’s you living the life!

My approach is trauma-informed, which means that I view you less from a lens of “Why would you do that?”, but more from a lens of “What happened to you?”. Trauma, experiences and stressors impact your biology so that you see the world in a different way. There are many different ways to understand and work with this to create new pathways in the brain and therefore, new behaviours in life. Many people are impacted by trauma and ignore this, which may lead to the development of physical or mental health conditions, or dysfunction in different aspects of life such as relationships, addictions and difficulties at work. Through my highly diverse personal, profession and educational experiences, I have gathered a large toolbox of knowledge and techniques to assist you in navigating through what happened to you, who you are as a unique human being under all of the experiences, and where you can go from here. It is really never too late to decide that today is the day your life gets better. Two of my favourite approaches are Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which help you to better understand and regulate distressing thoughts, behaviours, emotions and sensations into calmer states that allow us to engage in the world in a more effective way. When we feel safe and secure, we show up better and things feel easier.

I wanted to wrap this up by saying that my approach to therapy is not only effective for trauma but I also have experience with: - Anxiety - Depression - Life and career changes - Relationships - Family conflicts - IBS/Digestive disorders - Sleep disorders - Autoimmune disorders - Addiction/Harm Reduction/Suicide

Mental health impacts everyone and everyone could use help with something - whether it be how do I heal or how do I grow - I’d be honoured to support you on this journey and I look forward to meeting you.

Ending with 3 random things to get to know me :) 1. My favourite activities are yoga and meditation because the flow of the breath and the movement make me feel amazing and strong. They have literally changed my life. 2. I used to drink 5 cups of coffee a day and now solely drink decaf because daily jitters are just not my thing. 3. I have 10 tattoos and already have my next 5 planned out!

RN Psychotherapy is a fairly new field and is currently only covered by select insurance plans. Please check with your insurance provider if it is covered for you.

> REGISTERED WITH THE COLLEGE OF NATUROPATHS OF ONTARIO > MEMBER OF THE ONTARIO ASSOCIATION OF NATUROPATHIC DOCTORS > MEMBER OF THE CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF NATUROPATHIC DOCTORS > CANADIAN COLLEGE OF NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE, GRADUATE > BHSC. (HONS.), INTERDISCIPLINARY HEALTH SCIENCES, OTTAWA UNIVERSITY

My initial fascination with medicine wasn’t exactly romantic - in its earliest evolution, it started with an emergency room visit at the age of three in which I watched in awe as my ring finger was re-attached and was punctuated throughout my childhood as I was pushed through the system as a competitive dancer suffering from chronic back pain and then a hormonal teenager suffering from unexplainable neurological symptoms mimicking a stroke. As a result, I saw several sides of medicine - emergent in and out care that quite literally put me back together to chronic disease specialists that had the tools but couldn’t seem to carve out time to validate, diagnose, treat and/or monitor my condition. After all - “you’re young, you’ll probably be fine…”

I chose Naturopathic Medicine because I enjoy the deep dive work, finding what underpins a disease process and carefully unravelling disease factors. Working as an ND affords me the time to listen, learn, educate and monitor my patients in a way that aligns with values and allows me to deliver the highest quality care and comprehensive follow up. My promise to you: as your doctor I will take time to listen, remain curious, hold you accountable and act as a fierce health advocate. One of my core values is courage - I promise to be courageous enough to brave, with you, the very vulnerable space that lies between problem identification and “the fix.” (note: you are NOT broken)

I bridge the gap between modern medicine and traditional wisdoms in a way that serves my patients’ highest health. My goal is to empower women to reclaim their health and happiness because we know that a healthy woman translates to a community of healthy people. Given the tools - women learn, women teach, women share and women lead! That is world changing!

I know personally how dangerous the gender gap in medicine and research has become for women in the 21st century so I focused my practice on women and treating females differently because - we ARE different. Your physiology, your disease factors and your metabolism require a unique approach to health optimization. I will meet you where you are, use strategic assessment to obtain both objective and subjective data points to assess progress, functional medicine testing to confirm a naturopathic diagnosis and education as the basis for all treatment plans. I also pride myself in working closely with my patients’ other health care providers to ensure my care is adjunctive and supports the patient ability to meet and exceed their health goals safely.

I started my formal training by obtaining an Honours degree in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa before attending the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. At the College, I acted as Vice President - Clinic within the student council, travelled to Nicaragua and delivered primary care to over 150 locals on Ometepe Island in 2014, sat on the admissions committee, was the first student to sit on the Clinical Therapeutic’s Committee (CTC) and was selected to join the first group of interns to work in Canada’s first fully integrated, hospital based, naturopathic out-patient clinic. I completed a 12 month rotation at the Brampton Civic Naturopathic Teaching Clinic while working concurrently at the Parkdale Community Health Centre servicing low income patients and at the College’s onsite clinic - The Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic.

At home, I go by “mama.” My husband and I are proud members of the “two-under-under” club and our dogs make us a family of 6. Design work is my secret artsy passion and I’m currently working on mastering my mom-bun, my iced-coffee and macrame.
